The rim is a single piece of milled metal, and was a very advanced feature at the time. The original dowel still carries the "Luscomb" plaque, and the unusual and elegant mounting hardware. The neck is a very well rendered period style with a heavy dark rosewood fingerboard inlaid with elaborate shaped pearl pieces. The tuners are older 1970's Planets, the hooks are Gibson style and the tailpiece is a repro No-Knot. The large head diameter combined with the medium scale neck results in a very warm sounding banjo despite the metal rim, with plenty of volume. An absolutely unique instrument with an engaging sonic personality.

Overall length is 37 3/4 in. (95.9 cm.), 12 in. (30.5 cm.) diameter of rim, and 2 1/4 in. (5.7 cm.) in depth, measured at side of rim. Scale length is 26 1/2 in. (673 mm.). Width of nut is 1 1/4 in. (32 mm.). Some average wear overall but in fine playing condition. Set up with an older fiberskyn 2 head, a bit dirty but with plenty of life left. Very Good + Condition.
//cdn.shopify.com/s/files/1/0672/8702/3756/files/01_3748c535-a6ea-41f5-8dcb-ae037ee47024.jpg?v=1774330712
