These later maple-body Kalamazoos have a brighter tone than their mahogany predecessors, still retaining a well-balanced sound. The KG-14 was the best of the Kalamazoo flat tops; the body is the same form as Gibson's L-0 series, but the top is ladder braced and the neck has no truss rod.

These less expensive guitars were a major factor in Gibson's survival during the worst years of the Great Depression, but were phased out shortly after the US entered WWII; the maple KG-14's are among the last ones ever built.

Overall length is 40 in. (101.6 cm.), 14 3/4 in. (37.5 cm.) wide at lower bout, and 4 1/2 in. (11.4 cm.) in depth at side, taken at the end block. Scale length is 24 3/4 in. (629 mm.). Width of nut is 1 11/16 in. (43 mm.).

Good playing condition with some noticeable overspray and touch up, most notably where a tailpiece was at one point added. Plays and sounds very well.
