When Buck Owens appeared on television in 1969 with a red-white-and-blue guitar built for him by Semie Moseley, it seemed like an obvious idea to market them. A licensing deal was struck between Sears, Roebuck and Co. and Buck, and the guitars were built by Harmony in Chicago for sale in the retailer's catalog. The guitars carry Harmony factory markings but no company logo, and have several Mosrite-esque cosmetic touches. \u003cbr\u003e\u003cbr\u003eThey are a well-made guitar similar to a Sovereign, straight braced and with an adjustable bridge and truss rod. They ARE American made, but ironically do carry Japanese tuners! This one is all original and in great playing condition; a neat collectible and still a very flashy stage guitar with a surprisingly good sound.\u003cbr\u003e \u003cbr\u003eOverall length is 40 3\/4 in. (103.5 cm.), 15 1\/8 in. (38.4 cm.) wide at lower bout, and 3 7\/8 in. (9.8 cm.) in depth at side, taken at the end block. Scale length is 25 1\/4 in. (641 mm.). \u003cbr\u003e\u003cbr\u003eExcellent overall; the plastic headstock overlay has shrunk and cracked but is fully glued down; finish very nice overall with some small dings and scratches. There is a small repaired crack adjacent to the fingerboard on the bass side, not very noticeable. \u003cbr\u003e\u003cbr\u003eThe original alligator-grain HSC is also in very good condition.
