guild-t-100d-thinline-hollow-body-electric-guitar-1963-6148
Guild T-100D Thinline Hollow Body Electric Guitar (1963)
Guild T-100D Model Thinline Hollow Body Electric Guitar (1963), made in Hoboken, NJ, serial # 23501, sunburst lacquer finish, laminated maple body, mahogany neck with rosewood fingerboard, original brown tolex hard shell case.

The T-100-D "Slim Jim" was one of Guild's 1960's stand-bys, a relative bargain in a professional grade guitar with most of the design features of the popular Starfire series at a slightly lower price. The thin 16" single-cutaway body is sunburst-finished laminated maple with bound top and unbound back. The pickups in this early version are Guild's 1950's white plastic P-90 style single-coil units, by 1963 already disappearing from the company's line. The mahogany neck has a bound, dot-inlaid rosewood fingerboard and the headstock is the earlier "open book" shapewith a Guild-inlaid plastic overlay with "Chesterfield" column inlay. This guitar has a snappier sound than the Humbucker equipped Starfires and is quite a versatile instrument, excellent for everything from country to garage-band rock. An excellent player and still a very good value in an early 1960's vintage hollowbody guitar.

Overall length is 41 1/4 in. (104.8 cm.), 16 1/4 in. (41.3 cm.) wide at lower bout, and 1 15/16 in. (4.9 cm.) in depth, measured at side of rim. Scale length is 24 3/4 in. (629 mm.). Width of nut is 1 11/16 in. (43 mm.). A very nice example, with some play wear but no damage or repair. A decent amount of finish is worn off the back of the neck, other than that there are only small dings, chips and rubs-most notably to the back edge of the body. The finish and hardware are original except for a more recent (but correct style) added Bigsby tailpiece and bridge. The tuners are the original Grover Sta-Tites but there were Kluson pegs fitted at some point, leaving visible marks on the back of the headstock. This is an excellent playing guitar, with a very good neck angle and fine sound-especially with the Bigsby engaged. Includes the original HSC. Excellent - Condition.
//cdn.shopify.com/s/files/1/0672/8702/3756/files/01_fa41ac29-5f1c-4b66-b2e2-637fd1028ace.jpg?v=1774329276
