The M-20 was Guild's least expensive guitar in the 1950's and '60's but has become one of the company's most sought-after vintage models in recent years. The highly influential English singer\/songwriter Nick Drake is known to have played the M-20 and so the model is linked in the popular imagination to his legend, but the guitar itself has much to recommend it. A small body all-mahogany instrument, the M-20 has a different tonal character from any other Guild and excels particularly as a fingerpicking instrument. \u003cbr\u003e\u003cbr\u003eThis is a fairly early model and very lightly built, especially for a Guild! With no binding, a matte lacquer finish and only the plainest inlay this model has a very austere look but a typically well-rounded, expansive sound. This M-20 dates to 1964 and is much rarer than the typical late 1960's model, awith a somewhat more responsive sound. A lovely little guitar, and one we have received many requests for.\u003cbr\u003e \u003cbr\u003eOverall length is 39 in. (99.1 cm.), 13 3\/4 in. (34.9 cm.) wide at lower bout, and 4 1\/8 in. (10.5 cm.) in depth at side, taken at the end block. Scale length is 24 1\/2 in. (622 mm.). Width of nut is 1 11\/16 in. (43 mm.). Impeccably nice all-original condition with only the most minor wear-just some small edge rubs. Excellent sound and playability, the nicest '60's M-20 we have had.
