The medium-sized mahogany body and spruce top combine to produce a warm yet bright sound with plenty of 'ring'. The big wide mahogany neck with a center maple strip lamination and unbound rosewood fingerboard is quite comfortable. The F-212 was the world standard acoustic 12-string when new in the 1960's, and remains so today! This one is in a better state of preservation than many and has a big but still transparent sound.\u003cbr\u003e \u003cbr\u003eOverall length is 43 in. (109.2 cm.), 15 3\/4 in. (40 cm.) wide at lower bout, and 4 7\/8 in. (12.4 cm.) in depth at side, taken at the end block. Scale length is 25 1\/2 in. (648 mm.). Width of nut is 1 15\/16 in. (49 mm.). Very clean overall with some light finish wear; just small dings and scuffs overall and a few small edge chips on the back of the headstock. The neck has been reset and playability is excellent; there is some visible touch-up around the heel but overall a very nice job with an uncut original bridge and plenty of saddle. There are a couple of small grain splits on the back of the neck that have been very cleanly resealed and one big ding into the wood near the heel. A superb example overall, one of the cleanest and certainly the best playing F-212 we have seen in awhile.
