While this is a very small-bodied instrument, the tone is amazingly rich and complex. This is a 10-string guitar with single high E and B strings, double G's, and octaves on the D, A, and E courses. This design and stringing was patented in 1896, and this guitar appears to date from around that time.\u003cbr\u003e \u003cbr\u003eOverall length is 38 in. (96.5 cm.), 11 3\/4 in. (29.8 cm.) wide at lower bout, and 3 3\/4 in. (9.5 cm.) in depth at side, taken at the end block. Scale length is 24 1\/2 in. (622 mm.). Width of nut is 1 7\/8 in.
