gibson-tg-00-flat-top-tenor-guitar-1936-2841
Gibson TG-00 Flat Top Tenor Guitar (1936)
Gibson TG-00 Model Flat Top Tenor Guitar, c. 1936, made in Kalamazoo, Michigan, sunburst top, dark stained back and sides finish, mahogany body and neck, spruce top.

The TG-00 is the tenor version of the L-00, and although these were Gibson's least expensive tenor guitar, they have a big and powerful sound. Specs are the same as for the six-string version, with the obvious exception of the narrow four-string neck with tabbed Grover banjo tuners.

We are happy (if a bit bemused) to have two of these rare tenors in stock (see our stock #2874) and can't help wondering if there is some sort of duet act out there looking for just this set.

This one dates to around 1936, with a slightly bigger sunburst to the top than the earliest models.

These are great-sounding tenor guitars and quite a bargain compared to their six-string cousins!

Overall length is 38 1/4 in. (97.2 cm.), 14 3/4 in. (37.5 cm.) wide at lower bout, and 4 1/8 in. (10.5 cm.) in depth at side, taken at the end block. Scale length is 23 in. (584 mm.).

Well-preserved with a noticeable amount of finish wear, especially above the soundhole/neck area on the upper bout. Plays and sounds excellent. Excellent Condition.
//cdn.shopify.com/s/files/1/0672/8702/3756/files/01_2b06139c-feec-4452-94e1-562333d7a6bb.jpg?v=1774331581
