The sound is not as powerful as the full Mastertone-tone ring models but still quite vibrant and with considerable volume. An excellent and versatile workhorse of a vintage Gibson.

Overall length is 37 3/4 in. (95.9 cm.), 11 in. (27.9 cm.) diameter head, and 3 1/2 in. (8.9 cm.) in depth, measured at side of rim. Scale length is 26 1/4 in. (667 mm.). Width of nut is 1 3/16 in. (30 mm.). Well played, with some typical period additions. The headstock is fitted with adjustable cams for rapid tuning changes; there is a sliding 5th string capo mounted to the neck and strap buttons have been mounted on the resonator walls. There is a some fairly heavy plating wear to the flange and hoop but the neck and resonator finish is fairly well preserved, with some general wear. A cool gigging 1960's period Gibson banjo, not a full Mastertone but with a good solid folk/stringband sound.
