The double pickup Melody Maker D is rather more versatile than its single-pickup brethren-With a slim neck, two single coil pickups and vibrato this is a lean little rock machine; not as crunchy-sounding as most SG's but potent in its own right. A great value in a solid body at the time, an equally fine value in a 45-year old vintage Gibson today.\u003cbr\u003e \u003cbr\u003eOverall length is 39 in. (99.1 cm.), 13 1\/4 in. (33.7 cm.) wide at lower bout, and 1 3\/8 in. (3.5 cm.) in depth, measured at side of rim. Scale length is 24 3\/4 in. (629 mm.). Width of nut is 1 5\/8 in. (41 mm.). 100% original including the often-missing vibrato arm. Very fine overall with only some light checking and a few dings. Paint still has very good color, almost no fade. White plastic pickguard has an area of strumwear that has yellowed slightly, with light scuffing. Overall a beautifully preserved guitar, with a somewhat flimsy but functional original SSC.
