gibson-les-paul-recording-model-solid-body-electric-guitar-1972-6513
Gibson Les Paul Recording Model Solid Body Electric Guitar (1972)
Gibson Les Paul Recording Model Model Solid Body Electric Guitar (1972), made in Kalamazoo, Michigan, serial # 684263, natural mahogany finish, mahogany body, laminated maahogany neck with rosewood fingerboard, brown hard shell case.

The 1970's Les Paul Recording Model was the direct descendant of the 1969 Les Paul "Personal", the instrument Paul himself designed with Gibson following his re-engagement with the company in 1968. While Kalamazoo was most concerned with re-issuing the original 1950's models, an agreement was also struck to more accurately re-create Les Paul's highly personalized and idiosyncratic guitars for sale to guitarists everywhere. The first model offered was the "Personal" which was a close copy of Paul's own Custom guitar-this "Recording" model replaced it in 1971 with the same advanced electronics package on a slightly less upscale but more versatile instrument.

The two low-impedance pickups are mated to a specialized rig including a "Decade" switch offering 10 different preset tone modifications, a 3-way tone selector and an in/out of phase switch. This model also offered the switchable option of regular high-impedance output, making it a more convenient to the average player instrument than the original "Personal". A cool, unusual Les Paul variation, a fun guitar to play although definitely not the same vibe as a "rocker's" Les Paul.

Overall length is 39 13/16 in. (101.1 cm.), 13 1/2 in. (34.3 cm.) wide at lower bout, and 1 3/4 in. (4.4 cm.) in depth, measured at side of rim. Scale length is 24 3/4 in. (629 mm.). Width of nut is 1 11/16 in. (43 mm.). Not a lot of wear overall, some small dings and chips but no heavy finish wear. There is some typical plating wear and a section of the pickguard by the jack is replaced (typical on this model) but everything else appears original except except the strap buttons. A good player, the electronics are quirky in operation but there is a range of interesting sounds available. Includes a newer HSC. Excellent - Condition.
//cdn.shopify.com/s/files/1/0672/8702/3756/files/01_4c0d12ca-ff1d-49a3-8f9e-1e9d3dc5f617.jpg?v=1774330579
