gibson-l-7-arch-top-acoustic-guitar-1939-2944
Gibson L-7 Arch Top Acoustic Guitar (1939)
Gibson L-7 Model Arch Top Acoustic Guitar (1939), made in Kalamazoo, Michigan, sunburst top, dark stained back and sides finish, maple back and sides, spruce top, mahogany neck, black tolex original hard shell case.

A particularly attractive pre-war Gibson archtop, the 17" L-7 was the least expensive of the "Advanced" line of orchestra guitars but still a substantial professional grade instrument. This 1939 guitar still features the very elaborate "picturebox" fingerboard inlay introduced in 1934, and the X-braced top discontinued by 1940.

A smooth and powerful-sounding swing-era guitar with a surprisingly deep and resonant tone.

Overall length is 41 3/4 in. (106 cm.), 17 in. (43.2 cm.) width, and 3 1/2 in. (8.9 cm.) in depth at side, taken at the end block. Scale length is 25 1/2 in. (648 mm.).

All original except correct repro pickguard and bracket; pickguard has filled control holes and there have been previous floating pickup installations, but no alterations to the guitar itself. Finish is very nice overall with a lot of wear to the back of the neck and some residue on the f-hole edges which seems to indicate they were taped over at some point.

Overall a very fine guitar with original HSC. Excellent Condition.
//cdn.shopify.com/s/files/1/0672/8702/3756/files/01_a9cf8a1f-9423-489f-b1cd-a83acaf02a33.jpg?v=1774331638
