This guitar has the very large \"baseball bat\" neck without a truss rod typical of mid-WWII instruments and the famous \"Only A Gibson Is Good Enough\" peghead banner. \u003cbr\u003e\u003cbr\u003eThere have been a number of repairs to the top, and the bridge has been replaced with a more recent \"bottom belly\" style. Tuners are 1960's Klusons. \u003cbr\u003e\u003cbr\u003eThis guitar has a huge voice typical of the early J-45's with an extra crispness and clarity imparted by the mahogany top, which features a subtle brown sunburst look. \u003cbr\u003e\u003cbr\u003eThis is a great gigging J-45 with a relatively rare combination of features.\u003cbr\u003e \u003cbr\u003eOverall length is 40 1\/2 in. (102.9 cm.), 16 in. (40.6 cm.) wide at lower bout, and 4 7\/8 in. (12.4 cm.) in depth at side, taken at the end block. Scale length is 24 3\/4 in. (629 mm.). \u003cbr\u003e\u003cbr\u003eThis guitar has a number of repaired top cracks, all solid but some less than artfully closed. The finish has been touched up and buffed a bit in these areas but not oversprayed overall, and the back, sides, and neck have wear but no major repair work. \u003cbr\u003e\u003cbr\u003eThis is a great player's guitar, an unusually good Jumbo Gibson for fingerpicking, as well as a powerhouse rhythm guitar.
