gibson-ga-6-tube-amplifier-1955-6023
Gibson GA-6 Tube Amplifier (1955)
Gibson GA-6 Model Tube Amplifier, c. 1955, made in Kalamazoo, Michigan, serial # 25290, mottled grey fabric finish.

Height is 16 in. (40.6 cm.), 20 in. (50.8 cm.) width, and 8 1/2 in. (21.6 cm.) in depth at deepest point. This early-model GA-6 is relatively well preserved overall but has had some typical internal work. Most of the capacitors and resistors have been changed, but the original transformers and speaker are still intact and the circuit is unaltered. The outer textured cloth "oatmeal" covering is mostly pretty clean with one decent sized scrape on the left upper face. Some of the plastic "Gibson' logo is missing from the front. A relatively powerful and fairly crunchy Gibson amp for its size, the GA-6 is one of Kalamazoo's better offerings from this period. A great recording amp, it sounds rather like a tweed Deluxe with the highest frequencies smoothed out a bit, sweet and warm with gorgeous musical distortion when pushed. Excellent - Condition.
//cdn.shopify.com/s/files/1/0672/8702/3756/files/01_3b6da9a0-3142-46ad-a374-34db4750abeb.jpg?v=1774336694
