gibson-f25-folk-singer-flat-top-acoustic-guitar-1968-6781
Gibson F25 Folk Singer Flat Top Acoustic Guitar (1968)
Gibson F25 Folk Singer Model Flat Top Acoustic Guitar (1968), made in Kalamazoo, Michigan, serial # 975096, natural lacquer finish, mahogany back, sides and neck, spruce top, rosewood fingerboard, original brown chipboard case.

A bit of a Gibson oddity, the F-25 was the smaller of the company's two 1960's "folk' models, designed to appear to players weaned on classical guitars but wanting to move on to steel strings. The F-25 uses the same round-shouldered body as the LG/B-25 series but with a very wide, flat radius 12-fret neck. Another eccentric touch are the white Flamenco style tap guards on the top, designed to protect against frantic folkie strumming. While officially designed for silk & steel strings, this F-25 handles light steel perfectly. While perhaps not to everyone's taste, this is a very good sounding guitar with a distinctive character.

Overall length is 38 3/8 in. (97.5 cm.), 14 3/8 in. (36.5 cm.) wide at lower bout, and 4 1/2 in. (11.4 cm.) in depth at side, taken at the end block. Scale length is 24 1/2 in. (622 mm.). Width of nut is 2 in. (51 mm.). Very clean overall, just some very light wear and checking to the finish. We just replaced the original funky plywood bridgeplate with solid maple and added a real bone saddle and this one really woke up! No other repairs or alterations, a very nice playing and sounding guitar Excellent Condition.
//cdn.shopify.com/s/files/1/0672/8702/3756/files/01_4b81c699-461a-4122-b17d-c59cab9491fd.jpg?v=1774330172
