Bound ebony fretboard with side stripe, pearl block inlays from the first fret, and treble side extension with a total of 29 frets raised above the body. Abalone \"single flower pot\" and \"classic\" post-war Gibson logo (open \"b\" and \"o\") inlaid in peghead. Wide-bevel truss rod cover is engraved \"Custom\". \u003cbr\u003e\u003cbr\u003eGold plated single-line Deluxe Kluson enclosed tuners with unusual \"pearly\" plastic buttons; gold-plated tailpiece with \"wriggle\" pattern Gibson logo engraved. Adjustable rosewood bridge. Laminated (b\/w\/b\/w\/b) beveled edge pickguard with gold plated support. An unusual mandolin from Gibson somewhat reminiscent of earlier instruments, completely original and very little used. While many consider this to not be a great era for Gibson mandolins, this F5 is a surprisingly good sounding instrument, with plenty of volume and a good \"chop\". The deluxe square brown pink-lined HSC has the original key.\u003cbr\u003e \u003cbr\u003eOverall length is 28 in. (71.1 cm.), 10 in. (25.4 cm.) across at the widest point, and 1.75 in. Slight shrinkage to the tuner buttons; minor plating wear to the tailpiece cover. The original case is also almost flawless.
