The mandolin features a natural-finish carved spruce top with unbound f-holes, mahogany body and neck, and a rosewood fingerboard. The headstock features the "joined dot" block script logo used in the just post-war era.

There is an in-saddle pickup with a jack attached to the tailpiece installed; the instrument itself has not been altered and this can easily be removed. The tuners are modern replacements and the tailpiece cover is missing. This is a particularly good sounding and playing postwar Gibson A mandolin, and would be an excellent choice as a stage instrument.

Overall length is 26 in. (66 cm.), 10 1/4 in. (26 cm.) wide, and 1 3/4 in. (4.4 cm.) in depth, measured at side of rim. Scale length is 14 in. (356 mm.). Width of nut is 1 1/4 in. (32 mm.).

Original finish in excellent condition with minor play wear. One repaired crack on bass side near heelblock; otherwise, very nice.
