These early 60's Jazzmasters were the top of the Fender line and are exceptionally fine instruments, with a still-unique sound. This one belonged to a band named \"Dale Hutchison and the Uniques\" (the ghost of the name is visible on the upper case edge) and likely served them well for some years; it's newly set up and ready for its next 50 years of service.\u003cbr\u003e \u003cbr\u003eOverall length is 41 in. (104.1 cm.), 14 in. (35.6 cm.) wide at lower bout, and 1 5\/8 in. (4.1 cm.) in depth, measured at side of rim. Scale length is 25 1\/2 in. (648 mm.). Width of nut is 1 5\/8 in. (41 mm.). This is a pretty well-worn but a complete and all original old Jazzmaster; well used but not abused. There is a LOT of wear to the body edges but not so much on the face, which has a lovely faded sunburst that almost looks 2-tone. The neck is surprizingly clean and the frets still have some life in them, there is some light wear to the fingerboard up to the 7th-8th fret area but nothing serious. There is a small filled chip on the bass edge of the fingerboard between the 2nd and 3rd frets, and half of the upper split barrel on the high E tuner is broken off (which does not affect the tuner's function). Great sound, very crisp and powerful pickups, just a very nice old Fender, with a nice if also well-worn brown OHSC.
