fender-jaguar-solid-body-electric-guitar-196265-7417
Fender Jaguar Solid Body Electric Guitar (1962/65)
Fender Jaguar Model Solid Body Electric Guitar (1962/65), made in Fullerton, California, sunburst lacquer finish, alder body, maple neck with rosewood fingerboard, original brown tolex hard shell case.

The Fender Jaguar has returned to favor somewhat in the last decade but still remains a somewhat under-appreciated guitar with several interesting features. The model features the same vibrato unit and rhythm/lead circuit as the Jazzmaster with the addition of individual on/off switches for the pickups; the "Jag" is a very flexible guitar with a lot of sonic options. This is a very nice Pre-CBS Jaguar from 1962, fitted with a neck dated January 1965-by the looks of it from a long time ago! The body and all hardware show typical 1962 features, and look to have been a complete unit since then.

The neck has the same visual identifiers as a mid-1962 neck including an unbound rosewood fingerboard with clay dot inlay and the gold "transition" logo decal. The rosewood fretboard is slightly thinner than a '62 example would have been, there is no other practical difference. The 24" scale length is shorter than other top-line Fender guitars and the pickups are optimized for clarity and crispnessfactors that led to the Jaguar losing popularity in the late '60's as twang went out and distortion and crunch came in! Nevertheless this is still the top-of-the line 60's Fender; extremely popular with surfers, twangers and the like when new and very high quality guitars.

Overall length is 40 1/8 in. (101.9 cm.), 13 3/4 in. (34.9 cm.) wide at lower bout, and 1 1/2 in. (3.8 cm.) in depth, measured at side of rim. Scale length is 24 in. (610 mm.). This is a very fine playing and sounding guitar, an excellent gigging vintage Jaguar with tons of character. The body finish shows a decent amount of play wear, with dings, scrapes and some heavy checking particularly on the back. There are some chips to the finish along the body edges; the face is relatively clean with some scuffs and larger chips to the lacquer but no major loss areas. The neck finish is much cleaner and may have been polished out at some point; the frets have some slight wear but remain quite playable. The pickups, wiring and hardware are all original and relatively clean; the trem arm and the mute pad (it works!) are the only repro hardware. This is a very fine sounding and playing Jag, complete with the original 1962 brown tolex HSC. Overall Very Good + Condition.
//cdn.shopify.com/s/files/1/0672/8702/3756/files/01_00ec6d7a-beb8-4750-a54e-fea112a9fc5c.jpg?v=1774334545
