By the end 1964 this model would be re-styled to match the new \"Mustang\", with a slightly different body and altered switching and cosmetics. This solidly \"Pre-CBS\" guitar's clay dot rosewood fingerboard neck is dated June 1963, with an old-style Fender logo headstock decal. The appointments include a lovely white body finish (a new feature in mid-1963) with a three-layer tortoise Celluloid pickguard carrying two white-covered single-coil pickups selected by an old-style 3-way toggle. The headstock carries plastic-button Kluson Deluxe tuners and a \"Spaghetti\" style Fender logo. This \"transitional' version was only available in 1962 and '63 and one in this condition is a fairly rare find.\u003cbr\u003e \u003cbr\u003eOverall length is 37 3\/4 in. (95.9 cm.), 12 1\/4 in. (31.1 cm.) wide at lower bout, and 1 1\/2 in. (3.8 cm.) in depth, measured at side of rim. Scale length is 22 1\/2 in. (572 mm.). Width of nut is 1 9\/16 in. (40 mm.). This Duo-Sonic remains in spectacular, all-original condition. There are some small chips and dings, but the lacquer is overall superbly well preserved and still shines like a California morning. There are a couple of circular dings on the back, from the center pin on the typical period Fender strap buckle but hardly any play wear. A wonderful example, as nice as we have seen in a while complete with the original case (handle replaced).
