(16.5 cm.) deep. \u003cbr\u003e\u003cbr\u003eThis is an overall nicely well-preserved late 1958 tweed Fender Champ, with some odd wear on the face but otherwise looking not heavily used. It has s tube-chart ink-stamp \"HJ\", and was wired up by Lilly in October 1958. This amp has just been serviced and is sounding great; this included a grounded 3-prong cord, standard filter cap job and re-biasing to spec. No circuit changes have been made, and the tubes remain original or at least period. It retains the original transformers (Triads marked A106 on the output and 66079B on the PT) and the Oxford speaker dated the 42nd week of 1959, with a well preserved original cone. \u003cbr\u003e\u003cbr\u003eExternally most of the tweed is very nice with one notable exception. Somewhat inexplicably there are areas on the face oddly worn through almost to the wood on the bottom and right edges. This looks almost as if the amp was once dragged across a floor, or some similar indignity. While this does detract from this beauty's overall look somewhat it obviously has no sonic consequences! Everything else is quite natty; the original leather handle is still intact and the faceplate shows only some very light scuffing with no loss to the stenciled graphics. This is yet another great-sounding late '50's tweed Champ, a perennial favorite amp -- small in size but a monster in tone!
