fender-champ-5f1-tube-amplifier-1956-9344
Fender Champ 5F1 Tube Amplifier (1956)
Fender Champ 5F1 Model Tube Amplifier (1956), made in Fullerton, California, serial # C02450, tweed fabric covering finish.

Height is 11 3/4 in. (29.8 cm.), 13 1/4 in. (33.7 cm.) width, and 6 1/2 in. (16.5 cm.) deep.

This is an overall nicely well-preserved 1956 tweed Fender Champ, showing some general wear but otherwise looking not too heavily used. It has a tube-chart ink-stamp "FH" indicating it was assembled in August 1956. This amp has just been serviced and is sounding great; this included a grounded 3-prong cord, standard filter cap job, and re-biasing to spec. No circuit changes have been made. The amp retains the original transformers marked MDI-9A1 on the output and NYT-5396 on the PT. The speaker is a modern re-issue Jensen and the tubes are a more recent mix with one older RCA.

Externally the tweed is very nice with some typical wear at the edges and corners. Everything else is quite natty; the original leather handle is still intact and the faceplate shows only some very light corrosion with only minor loss to the stenciled graphics. This is yet another great-sounding late '50s tweed Champ, a perennial favorite amp -- small in size, but a monster in tone! Excellent - Condition.
//cdn.shopify.com/s/files/1/0672/8702/3756/files/01_f110a60a-224b-420c-9a22-8dcdf5e4d9ab.jpg?v=1774335951
