With a masonite-and pine body loaded with two celebrated \"lipstick\" pickups and a concentric tone-and-volume control rig this is a great sounding guitar. With its gleaming tuxedo black-and-white livery it is also a very sharp looking one as well. This is really the instrument that put Danelectro guitars on the map in the 1950's; they were only in production for a few years and despite being quite successful when new examples this nice are not common today.\u003cbr\u003e \u003cbr\u003eOverall length is 39 in. (99.1 cm.), 13 1\/4 in. (33.7 cm.) wide at lower bout, and 1 3\/4 in. (4.4 cm.) in depth, measured at side of rim. Scale length is 25 in. (635 mm.). Width of nut is 1 11\/16 in. (43 mm.). Very nice original condition; there are the typical small dings, edge rubs and scratches but no major finish loss or alterations. All original hardware-the only addition is a strap button to the upper bout -supplementing the original under the heel. The little pins which fit into the knobs acting as markers are missing-you actually have to look fairly closely to notice this. Overall a very fine example of this cool early Danelectro. Includes a functional but rather battered newer HSC.
