While the 'shorthorn' guitar and 4-string bass are fairly common as old Dan-o's go, this 4-string bass has an unusual mix of features, mounting the 1967-style single sided headstock neck on the older style body. This copper-top beauty is a very late model, likely one of the last ones made still with all the \"classic\" Dan-o features: semi-hollow masonite and pine body, white pebble vinyl side covering, \"seal\" shaped masonite pickguard and a single lipstick tube pickup with tone and volume controls and 3-way tone modifier switch. The short 15-fret neck has Brazilian rosewood fingerboard, but instead of the famous \"coke bottle\" headstock with vertical \"Danelectro\" logo used since 1956 has the new more Fender like \"Hawk\" shape used in 1967-7. Great sounding with the classic Danno twang factor, even with a single pickup.\u003cbr\u003e \u003cbr\u003eOverall length is 38 1\/2 in. (97.8 cm.), 13 1\/4 in. (33.7 cm.) wide at lower bout, and 1 5\/8 in. (4.1 cm.) in depth, measured at side of rim. Scale length is 29 1\/2 in. (749 mm.). Width of nut is 1 13\/16 in. (46 mm.). Super clean, all original condition-even the strings appear to original. No damage, repairs or alterations; some very small finish marks and that's it.
