Martin D-35S Model Flat Top Acoustic Guitar (1975), made in Nazareth, PA, serial # 363881, natural lacquer finish, Sitka spruce top, Indian rosewood back & sides, ebony bridge & fingerboard, molded black plastic hard shell case.

Overall length is 40 1/4 in. (102.2 cm.), 15 5/8 in. (39.7 cm.) wide at lower bout, and 4 15/16 in. (12.5 cm.) in depth at side, taken at the end block. Scale length is 25 1/2 in. (648 mm.). Width of nut is 1 7/8 in. (48 mm.).

This great-sounding 12-fret D-35 was recently given its 10,000 mile checkup at Martin; the instrument was refretted and given a new bridge, saddle, and under-saddle pickup/endpin jack installation. The pickguard has been replaced as well; most 1970s black acetate guards have shriveled up like potato chips by now.

The 12-fret "Special" Dreadnoughts are much rarer than the standard 14 fret models -- 222 of these shipped in 1975 while over 6,000 of the standard D-35 were sold. This is an excellent-playing and sounding guitar and a lovely example of one of the nicest Martin models from this period. Excellent Condition.
C. F.
