Martin D-28 Model Flat Top Acoustic Guitar (1954), made in Nazareth, PA, natural lacquer finish, Brazillian rosewood body, spruce top, mahogany neck, black tolex hard shell case.

This D-28 dates to the "golden era" of postwar country music in the early 1950's, and is a fabulous instrument for both wholly acoustic bluegrass and acoustic/electric honky tonk styles.

It features Brazilian rosewood back and sides with a pronounced figure, somewhat unusual for period D-28s that are usually straighter grained. The original Kluson Sealfast tuners are still in place.

Overall this is a heavily played but well-maintained guitar with a great vibe.

Overall length is 40 3/4 in. (103.5 cm.), 15 3/4 in. (40 cm.) wide at lower bout, and 4 15/16 in. (12.5 cm.) in depth at side, taken at the end block. Scale length is 25 1/2 in. (648 mm.).

Well-preserved overall with some touched-up finish wear to the top on either side of the fingerboard, mostly on the treble side. The rest of the finish is in nicely original condition with average light playwear and a small area of buckle wear to the back.

Looks to have had a neckset some time back with a proper repro bridge and there is an older refret, so the guitar is ready to play with a big wide sound and plenty of volume. Very Good + Condition.
C. F.
