Martin D-12-20 Model 12 String Flat Top Acoustic Guitar (1968), made in Nazareth, PA, natural lacquer finish, mahogany back and sides, spruce top; mahogany neck with rosewood fingerboard, original black hard shell case.

Overall length is 41 7/16 in. (105.2 cm.), 15 5/8 in. (39.7 cm.) wide at lower bout, and 4 15/16 in. (12.5 cm.) in depth at side, taken at the end block. Scale length is 25 in. (635 mm.). Width of nut is 1 7/8 in. (48 mm.).

This is a very fine-playing guitar with a nice low action for a 12-string and a big, lush sound. There are some tiny dings, dents, and pick scuffs, but overall the finish is very well-preserved. There are no cracks or notable repairs. The original pickguard is still intact; it has shrunken up just a bit, but has not lifted or done any damage to the wood around it.

These tuners are the original openback Waverly strip tuners, which are much lighter than the Grover Slimlines introduced the next year, giving this guitar a much better balance. This is about as nice a D-12-20 as we have had; an extremely good player and as original as they come, including the green-lined OHSC. Excellent Condition.
C. F.
