Martin 0-17 Model Flat Top Acoustic Guitar (1934), made in Nazareth, PA, natural lacquer finish, mahogany body and neck, Brazilian rosewood fingerboard.

A very attractive little mahogany Martin from early 1934. During the depression, these inexpensive (for a Martin!) guitars sold for thirty dollars, still a considerable sum for the average player. This model no doubt helped Martin stay afloat in the lean years of the early 30's!

'34 was the peak production year for the 0-17 and this guitar would be one of the earliest 14-fret examples built, as the model was changed from a 12-fret design just in time for the 1934 catalog. The rosewood fingerboard still features the traditional bar frets along with the original ebony nut.

A simple but beautiful sounding pre-war Martin, especially fine for fingerpicking.

Overall length is 38 1/2 in. (97.8 cm.), 13 1/2 in. (34.3 cm.) wide at lower bout, and 4 1/4 in. (10.8 cm.) in depth at side, taken at the end block. Scale length is 24 7/8 in. (632 mm.).

General finish wear overall, but no major cracks or repairs; all original except for modern reproduction Waverly "Butter Bean" tuners. Recent neck set by our shop.

Guitar plays very well and is full sounding. Very Good + Condition.
C. F.
