Martin 0-15 Model Flat Top Acoustic Guitar (1940), made in Nazareth, PA, serial # 79049, dark mahogany finish, mahogany body and neck, rosewood fingerboard and bridge, black tolex hard shell case.

A VERY clean and great-playing prewar 0-15. This guitar was built during the very brief period when Martin experimented with tortoise shell plastic peghead overlays, and sports a particularly attractive example of that rare feature. This small mahogany guitar has a surprisingly loud voice, and sounds great finger- or flatpicked. While this was the least expensive Martin guitar in 1940, listing for $25.00, it still is built to the expected Martin standard of quality.

Overall length is 38 3/4 in. (98.4 cm.), 13 5/8 in. (34.6 cm.) wide at lower bout, and 4 1/4 in. (10.8 cm.) in depth at side, taken at the end block. Scale length is 24 3/4 in. (629 mm.). Width of nut is 1 11/16 in. (43 mm.). Amazingly fine condition overall-a couple of small scratches and a replaced nut (bone instead of ebony) are all that keep this from being a virtually near-mint 70+ year old guitar. Original tuners, endpin and even bridgepins, no finish work ever, clean frets, excellent setupand great sound! One of the nicest prewar Style 15's we've ever seen. Excellent + Condition.
C. F.
