Kay 5 String Banjo, c. 1950's, made in Chicago, sunburst lacquer finish, maple neck and rim, rosewood fingerboard, original black chipboard case.
Overall length is 38 in. (96.5 cm.), 11 in. (27.9 cm.) diameter head, and 2 3/4 in. (7 cm.) in depth, measured at side of rim. Scale length is 27 in. (686 mm.). Width of nut is 1 3/16 in. (30 mm.). Very nice, all original condition-even the head and bridge. The only alteration is the tuners replaced with guitar units early on-likely when new, as this model had non-geared pegs originally! Nice, warm sound. Includes the original chip case. Excellent Condition.
