8 Course Renaissance Lute, c. 1960, made in Germany, natural finish, rosewood, maple, spruce, ivory, and mahogany, original black hard shell case.
The back is 27 scalloped rosewood staves separated by plain maple strips. The spruce top is bound in rosewood with a carved rosette, and the neck is faced in rosewood and inlaid with three ivory arabesque panels. There are eight tie-on frets with five rosewood frets going onto the top.
The back of the neck is veneered in stained maple with mahogany strips, the bridge is rosewood, and the pegbox is fitted with 15 rosewood pegs. The "AM" monogram is below the bridge.
Length is 31 in. (78.7 cm.), 13 1/2 in. (34.3 cm.) width. Scale length is 25 3/8 in. (645 mm.). Excellent Condition.
