Fender Princeton Reverb Model Tube Amplifier (1964), made in Fullerton, California, serial # A-00960, black tolex covering finish.
Height is 16 in. (40.6 cm.), 20 in. (50.8 cm.) width, and 9 1/4 in. (23.5 cm.) deep.
Overall this is a well preserved example of one of the hottest amps going today, vintage or modern, the blackface Fender Princeton Reverb. The combination of clean, crunch and natural overdrive this model offers perfectly suits the modern world's lower volume requirements, and they always sound great. This is a nicely original JUST pre-CBS amp, with a tube chart stamp reading "NL" indicating assembly in December 1964. The power transformer is coded 606-4-39 (39th week of 1964) and the output transformer 606-4-35 (35th week of 1964). The back panel reads "Fender Electric Instrument company" generally considered the true mark of a Pre-CBS amp. Externally there is some minor dirt and scuffing but overall the amp remains quite attractive.
Internally this amp has just been serviced with a standard cap job replacing the large can cap and some of the preamp electrolytics, a re-bias to spec and a thorough internal cleaning of all pots, jacks etc. The speaker is the original Oxford, dated 465-439 (39th week of 1964) and the reverb tank is original as well. The tube compliment sports a pair of RCA 6V6s, a GE Electronic 5AR4 rectifier tube, RCA 12AX7s in V1 and V3 and GE Electronic tubes in V4 and V5 . Externally it is all original with some fairly light wear. A great sounding and growly Princeton Reverb; a good player's example of our most popular single amplifier in fine gigging condition. Excellent Condition.
