Goya Rangemaster Model 116R Model Solid Body Electric Guitar (1966), made in Italy, sunburst polyester finish, hardwood body & neck with rosewood fingerboard, original molded blue plastic hard shell case.

Overall length is 41 1/2 in. (105.4 cm.), 12 3/4 in. (32.4 cm.) wide at lower bout, and 1 1/2 in. (3.8 cm.) in depth, measured at side of rim. Scale length is 24 3/4 in. (629 mm.). Width of nut is 1 5/8 in. (41 mm.).

This is by far the nicest example of the elusive solid body Goya Rangemaster we have had, 100% completely original and looking only very lightly played. The finish is still shiny with some typical long checking lines, and shows several chips and dings with very minor small scuffs and scratches overall. The neck and frets show very little wear; there is a dent in the fingerboard by the 9th fret that appears to be a factory error. Everything is complete and original, the mirror-plastic insets on the selector buttons are intact, and the often elusive bridge cover and slot-in trem arm is still present.

This is also a very good playing example of this slightly off-the-wall Italian "Veg-O-Matic" plastic-buttoned fretted creation, in a striking red finish that is much more attractive than the alternate sunburst. The many switches are a bit scratchy but all work as intended. These were not intended as a low-budget guitar, and compared to many period Italian-made guitars are solidly made and a better playing instruments than many would expect. The Rangemaster is a versatile solid body with four individual half-pickups arranged in pairs, producing some interesting sounds! Includes the somewhat wacky but functional original molded plastic case, and even the original (very cheaply made) strap. Excellent Condition.
