Wayne Henderson Dreadnought Model Flat Top Acoustic Guitar (2013), made in Rugby, Virginia, natural finish, Brazilian rosewood back and sides, spruce top; mahogany neck with ebony fingerboard, original molded black plastic hard shell case.

Wayne Henderson of Rugby, Virginia is widely considered one of the very finest builders of flat-top guitars working today. His instruments are all built one at a time for individual customers and rarely become available for sale on the secondary market. This beautiful example of his work is constructed with D-28 style features including herringbone top trim, a chain backstrip, slotted diamond fingerboard inlay, and wildly figured Brazilian rosewood back and sides.

The only really noticeable difference from vintage Martin design norms is Henderson's unique elegant peaked headstock shape, which reminds us of a Larson Brothers mandocello. This instrument was received direct from the maker in 2013 and has been little used but very well-cared for since. It represents a rare opportunity to acquire one of these avidly sought-after sublime quality Dreadnoughts without getting on the long waiting list for the maker to build one.

Overall length is 40 3/4 in. (103.5 cm.), 15 1/2 in. (39.4 cm.) wide at lower bout, and 4 3/4 in. (12.1 cm.) in depth at side, taken at the end block. Scale length is 25 1/4 in. (641 mm.). Width of nut is 1 11/16 in. (43 mm.).

This guitar appears very little played; practically new. It sounds truly fantastic now and will only get more robust with more play time invested. One of the finest "traditional-modern" guitars extant and truly an artist's instrument in every way. Near Mint Condition.
