Gibson RB-250 Mastertone Model 5 String Banjo (2003), made in Nashville, TN, serial # 250-03-94, natural finish, laminated maple rim, mahogany neck with rosewood fingerboard, black hard shell case.

Overall length is 37 3/4 in. (95.9 cm.), 11 in. (27.9 cm.) diameter head, and 3 1/2 in. (8.9 cm.) in depth, measured at side of rim. Scale length is 26 1/4 in. (667 mm.). Width of nut is 1 3/16 in. (30 mm.).

The modern RB-250 is a nice, traditionally made Gibson Mastertone with all the expected features, including a flathead tone ring and one-piece flange, but not a re-issue of any particular vintage model. This 2003 example is all original, showing some light wear -- mostly to the nickel plating, which carries a patina that makes the banjo look older than it is!

The finish is very clean with only some very light marks, mostly buckle wear to the back of the resonator. The head shows some dirt and wear but is completely solid. A very good-sounding and playing Gibson 5-string; not the flashiest Mastertone out there, but it does the job! Excellent + Condition.
