Gibson Firebird I Model Solid Body Electric Guitar (1991), made in Nashville, TN, serial # 93401806, sunburst lacquer finish, laminated mahogany body and neck, rosewood fingerboard, original hard shell case.

Overall length is 45 in. (114.3 cm.), 13 1/2 in. (34.3 cm.) wide at lower bout, and 1 1/8 in. (2.9 cm.) in depth, measured at side of rim. Scale length is 24 3/4 in. (629 mm.). Width of nut is 1 11/16 in. (43 mm.).

This guitar appears very little played since new; really only some tiny handling marks keep this from a Near Mint rating. It is an excellent 1991 re-issue of the fairly rare 1963-4 Firebird I, quite accurate except for the substitution of a separate stop tailpiece and intonatable Tune-O-Matic bridge for the original solid bar bridge/tailpiece.

The Firebird I with its single pickup is a rarely re-issued model, despite finding fame in the hands of Eric Clapton and Steve Stills. This is not a particularly versatile guitar with the single mini-humbucking pickup, but within that constraint is an excellent-playing and sounding 'bird, complete and original in its very clean (and huge!) original brown Tolex HSC. Excellent + Condition.
