Gibson LG-2 Model Flat Top Acoustic Guitar (1956), made in Kalamazoo, Michigan, serial # V8677-12, sunburst top, dark back and sides finish, mahogany back and sides, spruce top, mahogany neck with rosewood fingerboard, black hard shell case.
Overall length is 39 1/2 in. (100.3 cm.), 14 1/2 in. (36.8 cm.) wide at lower bout, and 4 1/2 in. (11.4 cm.) in depth at side, taken at the end block. Scale length is 24 3/4 in. (629 mm.). Width of nut is 1 11/16 in. (43 mm.).
This is a super clean original guitar, which appears to have sat unplayed for much of its 60+ years on earth. There are some small nicks and dings to the finish and a bit of wear to the frets and fingerboard and that's about it. No cracks anywhere, which is kind of amazing!
The Kluson Deluxe tuners are the correct style but have the "double line" back stamping that was introduced in 1964, so they have been replaced at some point, perhaps when the original buttons crumbled. This is a great playing LG with a bigger, brighter sound than many from this era -- a gem in every way! Excellent + Condition.
