Fender Stratocaster Rory Gallagher Signature Model Solid Body Electric Guitar (2005), made in Fullerton, California, serial # R20120, natural stain with applique finish, alder body, maple neck with rosewood fingerboard, original brown tolex hard shell case.

Overall length is 39 3/4 in. (101 cm.), 12 3/4 in. (32.4 cm.) wide at lower bout, and 1 3/4 in. (4.4 cm.) deep. Scale length is 25 1/2 in. (648 mm.). Width of nut is 1 5/8 in. (41 mm.).

It's hard to describe this guitar as "Near Mint" as it's specifically designed to look like it's had 50 years of play! Still, that's what it is, an early example from 2005 of one of Fender's most popular and detailed Custom Shop artist models -- the Rory Gallagher Signature Stratocaster. Designed to replicate the famous '61 Strat that Gallagher played virtually his entire career, this signature model features a neck sanded down to the bare wood and body with only scraps of finish remaining.

The hardware has an aged patina as well, and is exactly matched to the eccentricities of the original guitar -- the pickguard even has a couple of simulated "cracks." The neck heel is stamped on the underside April 22, 2005 with "Rory Gallagher" handwritten in pencil and a die stamp "RELIC".

This complete package includes the original case candy with the certificate of authenticity, booklet, tags, replacement 5-way switch, re-issue strap, and more all housed in a period-correct re-issue brown case (that is not artificially aged). One of the best of Fender's Artist Models, a fitting tribute to its namesake and a very good-playing and sounding Strat by any standard. Near Mint Condition.
