Galanti Grand Prix Model 3002 Model Solid Body Electric Guitar (1965), made in Italy, serial # 4557, red lacquer finish, mahogany body and neck, rosewood fingerboard, chipboard case.

Overall length is 40 1/4 in. (102.2 cm.), 12 3/4 in. (32.4 cm.) wide at lower bout, and 1 1/2 in. (3.8 cm.) in depth, measured at side of rim. Scale length is 24 3/4 in. (629 mm.). Width of nut is 1 5/8 in. (41 mm.).

Overall a nicely original example of one of the best of the "Italian Invasion" guitars, made of actual decent timbers and not swathed in plastic as many were. This guitar is all original with some typical playwear, mostly dings and scuffs to the body finish (a couple of big dings into the wood on the top edge in the armwear zone), and one spot of wear through the finish on the treble side of the neck just below the nut. The pickguard shows one solid but visible crack repair just above the jack. With a new fret job, this is at least as good a player as any Galanti out there, with a solid twangy sound and an always-sharp period look. Very Good + Condition.
