Rickenbacker Model 365 Capri Model Semi-Hollow Body Electric Guitar (1961), made in Los Angeles, California, serial # AF 460, Fireglo red sunburst finish, maple body, laminated maple neck with padouk fingerboard, original grey/green hard shell case.

Overall length is 39 3/4 in. (101 cm.), 15 in. (38.1 cm.) wide at lower bout, and 2 1/16 in. (5.2 cm.) in depth, measured at side of rim. Scale length is 24 3/4 in. (629 mm.). Width of nut is 1 5/8 in. (41 mm.).

An excellent-playing example of an early 1960s "transitional" early Rickenbacker Capri in good original condition overall. There is some definite playwear, but still a very attractive instrument. The fingerboard shows divoting in the lower position and has been refretted in period correct style with a new bone nut; there is still some original lacquer left but much of it is worn away. There is a LOT of finish worn away from the back of the neck; somebody played this guitar extensively, and it shows mostly in this region which is down to the maple on both sides.

By comparison there is some wear to the body -- small dings and chips with a bit of touch-up and some light, very fine checking. The early Fireglo finish overall is bright and vibrant, with a lovely deep pinkish/rose color without a lot of fade. This is an excellent playing guitar with the typical slim 1960s Rickenbacker neck and an excellent neck angle, often a sore point for these early Capris. All the hardware and electronics are original with pots dated the 3rd week of 1961. Not the cleanest but one of the best-sounding Rickenbackers we have ever had, includes the original greenish/grey case. Very Good + Condition.
