Gibson L-48 Model Arch Top Acoustic Guitar (1951), made in Kalamazoo, Michigan, serial # 6941-32 (FON), sunburst lacquer finish, mahogany body and neck, rosewood fingerboard.

Overall length is 40 3/8 in. (102.6 cm.), 16 1/8 in. (41 cm.) wide at lower bout, and 3 1/4 in. (8.3 cm.) in depth, measured at side of rim. Scale length is 24 3/4 in. (629 mm.). Width of nut is 1 3/4 in. (44 mm.).

This is a superbly well-preserved, very clean guitar overall; all original with no repairs except one very small resealed side crack, and only very light wear. Really the only issue is the original tuner buttons are slightly shrunken, but still work fine. This is also a very fine player with a surprisingly excellent sound, a lovely example of the fairly rare early model L-48 with the all-mahogany body the model began with -- about as nice as we ever see early 1950s guitars these days! Excellent + Condition.
