Epiphone Wilshire Model Solid Body Electric Guitar (1964), made in Kalamazoo, Michigan, serial # 200950, cherry lacquer finish, mahogany body and neck, rosewood fingerboard, original grey hard shell case.

This is a fairly rare example of an early "second generation" Wilshire, the midline solidbody in the 1960's Gibson-made Epiphone line. The serial number dates this guitar to 1964, the year after these guitars we re-designed in a more Fender-like manner. The earlier double sided headstock was replaced with a single sided style often referred to as the "batwing", and the body's lower cutaway horn was shortened resulting in a asymmetrical profile. With a great slim neck, very strong mini-humbucking pickups and a fairly rare stoptail (non-tremolo) setup this is a great player, as well-most of these had a vibrato system. A cool and often overlooked mid-'60's Gibson solidbody!

Overall length is 39 in. (99.1 cm.), 13 in. (33 cm.) wide at lower bout, and 1 in. (2.5 cm.) in depth, measured at side of rim. Scale length is 24 3/4 in. (629 mm.). Width of nut is 1 5/8 in. (41 mm.). This guitar is very clean and all original, the cherry finish is shiny with a little fade, some small chips and some broad checking. The pickguard has a one small crack due to shrinkage near the output jack, and one strap button is a correct style re-issue. Other than these very small issues this is all original and a truly spectacular example! Excellent Condition.
