Gibson Style A-1 Model Arch Top Mandolin (1917), made in Kalamazoo, Michigan, natural top, cherry stained back and sides finish, birch back and sides, spruce top; mahogany neck with ebony fingerboard, black hard shell case.

Overall length is 25 3/4 in. (65.4 cm.), 10 1/4 in. (26 cm.) wide, and 1 15/16 in. (4.9 cm.) in depth, measured at side of rim. Scale length is 14 in. (356 mm.). Width of nut is 1 1/4 in. (32 mm.). A nice original example, all original with added finish, major damage or repair. The original pickguard is included but is suffering the early stages of celluloid deterioration so is not mounted. There is evidence of some old shrinkage to the back and the end seam has been resealed. An excellent sounding mandolin with plenty of volume and depth. Includes a nice OHSC. Overall Excellent - Condition.
