Vox Clubman Model Solid Body Electric Bass Guitar (1964), made in Dartford, Kent, England, red polyester finish, hardwood body and neck, original brown chipboard case.

The Clubman was one of the JMI/Vox beginner models made in the UK in the early-mid 1960's. Although definitely built to a price this is still a well-designed and quite useful lightweight bass. Very handy to play, with two good sounding chrome Vox pickups set up with individual volume controls and a master tone. The very bright red poly body finish was calculated to appeal to the teenage English rocker in the age of the Shadows, and still looks great today. A very playable piece of Vox history, and a cool little bass.

Overall length is 40 3/4 in. (103.5 cm.). Very nice overall; some typical heavy finish checking on the body. The oft-missing headstock decals are still complete. The tuners are modern versions of the Van Gent originals; all else is original-the press-on bridge cover is missing. There is an added ground wire externally between the pickguard and bridge (Vox did not originally ground these!). A neat little player and a very good example of Vox's 1960's English made beginner-level bass guitar, complete with the original rectangular pasteboard case. Excellent - Condition.
