Silvertone Model 1443 Model Solid Body Electric Bass Guitar, made by Danelectro (1967), made in Neptune, NJ, sunburst lacquer finish, hardwood body, poplar neck with rosewood fingerboard.

This Silvertone model 1443 and its more upscale sister the Coral Deluxe were the Danelectro company's only long-scale bass designs; available only from 1967-8 both are quite rare today. With two great sounding Danno pickups and a full 33 1/2" scale the 1443 is certainly the company's most serious attempt at matching the feel and sound of a Fender bass-the classic familiar Danelectro basses have a short 29 1/2" scale. This was absolutely the most serious bass guitar Sears ever offered, and one of the coolest (and most unique) of all Danelectro creations.

Overall length is 48 1/2 in. (123.2 cm.), 14 3/4 in. (37.5 cm.) wide at lower bout, and 1 1/2 in. (3.8 cm.) in depth, measured at side of rim. Scale length is 33 1/2 in. (851 mm.). Width of nut is 1 3/4 in. (44 mm.).

All original, with some general wear (mostly chips and dings to the finish). Plays very well; the neck has a slight relief (pretty much universal on this model) but nothing severe and there is a sloppy mortise joint with a visible seam and small filled area on the back of the headstock (evidence of a rushed production schedule)?

Complete, except the "S" on the raised plastic "Silvertone" logo is missing. Very solid, excellent sound, and a nice example of one of Danelectro's more atypical creations. Excellent - Condition.
