Gibson A-2 Model Carved Top Mandolin (1920), made in Kalamazoo, Michigan, serial # 60289, brown stain finish, birch back and sides, spruce top; mahogany neck with ebony fingerboard, original black hard shell case.
Overall length is 25 3/4 in. (65.4 cm.), 10 1/8 in. (25.7 cm.) wide, and 1 7/8 in. (4.8 cm.) in depth, measured at side of rim. Scale length is 14 in. (356 mm.). Width of nut is 1 1/4 in. (32 mm.). All original with moderate play wear overall but no cracks or repairs. Top is marked from old bridge location, finish is worn on the back of the neck and near the neck joint-this mandolin was played a lot but well cared for! Very good sound, still a solid player 90+ years on. Overall Very Good + Condition.
