Vega Senator Model 5 String Banjo (1925), made in Boston, Mass., serial # 65104, shaded maple and natural varnish finish, laminated maple rim; mahogany neck with eponized maple fingerboard, black tolex hard shell case.
Overall length is 37 3/8 in. (94.9 cm.), 11 in. (27.9 cm.) diameter head, and 2 5/8 in. (6.7 cm.) in depth, measured at side of rim. Scale length is 27 in. (686 mm.). Width of nut is 1 1/4 in. (32 mm.). Nice, clean original banjo...the only alteration is a repro No-Knot tailpiece. A nice frailer, set up with a skin head- a very good example of this classic old-time banjo.
