Gibson ES-330TD Model Thinline Hollow Body Electric Guitar (1967), made in Kalamazoo, Michigan, sunburst top, dark back and sides finish, laminated maple body, mahogany neck with rosewood fingerboard, original black soft shell case.
A nice original example of a 1960's sunburst ES-330. This guitar has typical mid-60's features: a bound, pearloid-block inlaid rosewood fingerboard and chrome pickup covers, tailpiece and Tune-o-matic bridge with nylon saddles. The thin, double-cutaway single-bound body is fully hollow and the neck joins at the 16th fret. This guitar has a nice dark sunburst finish, the neck is the narrower-nut style in use in 1967 but still has a substantial, deeper feel back-to-front. It also has the older style 60's style back-painted plastic "bonnet" metal-capped tone and volume knobs that were just getting phased out around this time.
The ES-330TD is a great sounding very versatile guitar, one of Gibson's most adaptable designs. This model been heard in many styles of music since the instrument was introduced in 1959: Jazz great Grant Green used ES-330's extensively on his most well-regarded early-1960's recordings, as did many other jazz, blues and R&B artists. The 330 and its nearly identical sister guitar the Epiphone Casino were featured in countless '60's British invasion bands, including the Beatles, Rolling Stones, Kinks, Manfred Mann and many more.
Overall length is 40 1/4 in. (102.2 cm.), 16 in. (40.6 cm.) wide at lower bout, and 1 3/4 in. (4.4 cm.) in depth, measured at side of rim. Scale length is 24 3/4 in. (629 mm.). Width of nut is 1 9/16 in. (40 mm.). All original, finish clean with some fairly heavy checking but not much wear-some small dings/scratches on back of neck and a few edge chips. A nice playing and great sounding '60's 330. Overall Excellent Condition.
