Fender Mustang Model Solid Body Electric Guitar (1966), made in Fullerton, California, red lacquer finish, alder body, maple neck with rosewood fingerboard, original hard shell case.

A fine and nicely preserved 1966 Mustang, Fender's classiest student guitar and the eternal favorite of countless garage bands of the 60's, '70's and 80's. The body sports a vibrant deep red finish (the Mustang lacks the heavy clear overcoat of higher-end Fender finishes, thus tends to stay truer in color). The pickguard is laminated with a white pearloid top layer. The floating vibrato system is intact and works very well, with the classic Mustang twangulation. The neck is dated August '66 and pots coded to 42nd week of that year. An American classic and still a great deal in a clean original 1960's Fender guitar!

Overall length is 39 3/4 in. (101 cm.), 12 1/4 in. (31.1 cm.) wide at lower bout, and 1 3/8 in. (3.5 cm.) in depth, measured at side of rim. Scale length is 24 in. (610 mm.). Width of nut is 1 5/8 in. (41 mm.). Light wear overall-most noticeably some belt buckling into(but not through) the finish on the back. All original, no repairs or modifications, a very nice example. Excellent Condition.
