Epiphone Texan FT-79N Model Flat Top Acoustic Guitar (1964), made in Kalamazoo, Michigan, natural lacquer finish, mahogany back, sides and neck; spruce top, rosewood fingerboard, black gig bag case.

The "Guitar of Yesterday" the Epiphone Texan will forever be remembered as Paul McCartney's instrument of choice for writing, recording and performing that particular tune, and many others besides. The Texan is the 1960's Epi-logo version of the Gibson J-50; this guitar is the same year and identical specs to the actual Beatle guitar. These include the "Thin" Epiphone headstock with pearl inlay, pearl trapezoid block fingerboard inlay and the adjustable-saddle rosewood bridge.

Overall length is 42 1/2 in. (108 cm.), 16 in. (40.6 cm.) wide at lower bout, and 5 in. (12.7 cm.) in depth at side, taken at the end block. Scale length is 25 1/4 in. (641 mm.). Width of nut is 1 5/8 in. (41 mm.). Some overall wear; several repaired top cracks and a patch to a somewhat inexplicable (volume control?) hole in the top near the bridge. All original except some isolated finish touch-up in that spot. A very good sounding and playing example. Very Good + Condition.
